OBS Studio
Connect KATTTIK Stream Studio to OBS Studio for automated scene switching and source control
OBS Studio is the ultimate open-source software for video recording and live streaming. KATTTIK integrates with OBS to automate scene switching, source control, and production.
What Can KATTTIK Do with OBS?
With OBS integration, KATTTIK can:
- Switch scenes automatically (e.g., gift ? switch to celebration scene)
This turns viewer interactions into production automation.
Prerequisites
- OBS Studio installed (latest version recommended)
- OBS WebSocket enabled (built-in since OBS 28+)
- Both KATTTIK and OBS running on same PC or network
How to Enable OBS WebSocket
Open OBS Studio ? Tools ? WebSocket Server Settings
Check Enable WebSocket server
- Port: default 4455 (or 4444 for old versions)
- Enable Authentication: Recommended, set password
- Note the port and password
Click OK and restart OBS if needed
How to Connect KATTTIK to OBS
In KATTTIK Stream Studio ? Go to Integration ? OBS Studio
Enter OBS WebSocket details:
- Host:
localhostor127.0.0.1(if same PC) - Port:
4455(or your custom port) - Password: Your WebSocket password (if set)
Click Connect ? Should show Connected
Test: Create Action ? OBS Action ? Switch Scene ? Select scene ? Test button should switch scene in OBS
If KATTTIK runs in browser and OBS on same PC, use localhost. If using Windows Toolkit, it can bridge connection more reliably.
Best Practices
- Name scenes/sources clearly: No spaces special chars issues - use simple names
- Test offline: Test all OBS actions before live
- Use delays: Chain actions with delays for sequences
- Backup OBS: Export OBS profile and scene collection
- Keep WebSocket secure: Use password, don't expose port to internet
- Check OBS logs: If action fails, check OBS logs for WebSocket errors
Troubleshooting
- Can't connect?
- Check OBS WebSocket enabled and port correct
- Check firewall not blocking port 4455
- Try
127.0.0.1instead oflocalhost - Ensure OBS running
- Action not working?
- Check scene/source name exact match (case sensitive)
- Check OBS WebSocket version compatibility (OBS 28+ uses 5.x protocol)
- Test with simple action first
- Delay/lag?
- Normal 100-300ms delay for WebSocket
- Keep PC performance good, close heavy apps
OBS integration requires Premium for full features. Free tier has Basic Only desktop integration. See Membership.
