Docs as MCP Server
Connect KATTTIK documentation to Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT, VS Code, and Cursor via MCP for instant answers.
KATTTIK exposes its entire documentation as an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server. This lets AI chat assistants — Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT, VS Code Copilot, Cursor, and others — search and read KATTTIK docs directly, giving you accurate, sourced answers without leaving the chat.
MCP Server URL: /docs/api/mcp/
Two tools are available: search_docs (find pages by keyword) and read_doc (get full page content).
What is MCP?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI assistants connect to external tools and data sources. Instead of pasting docs into a chat window or hoping the model was trained on the right content, you connect the assistant directly to the KATTTIK docs server. The assistant can search and read pages in real-time — answers are always up-to-date and cite specific documentation pages.
Available Tools
| Tool | What it does | Key parameters |
|---|---|---|
search_docs | Search KATTTIK docs by keyword. Returns ranked results with titles, descriptions, slugs, and URLs. | query (required), language (optional, e.g. "en", "id"), limit (default 10) |
read_doc | Fetch the full content of a specific documentation page as clean markdown. | slug (required, e.g. "how-to-connect" or "troubleshooting/stream-connection"), language (optional, defaults to "en") |
Both tools support all KATTTIK documentation languages: English (en), Indonesian (id), Arabic (ar), Spanish (es), Portuguese (pt), Vietnamese (vi), and Chinese (zh).
Setup Guides
Claude Desktop
Open Claude Desktop settings.
- Windows:
File → Settings → Developer → Edit Config - macOS:
Claude → Settings → Developer → Edit Config
This opens claude_desktop_config.json.
Add the KATTTIK MCP server entry.
{
"mcpServers": {
"KATTTIK-docs": {
"url": "/docs/api/mcp/"
}
}
}Restart Claude Desktop.
You should see a small hammer icon or tools indicator. Try asking: "How do I connect TikTok to KATTTIK?" — Claude will search the docs automatically.
Gemini (Google AI Studio / Gemini CLI)
Gemini supports MCP via its Gemini CLI (gemini-cli) tool. The built-in web app does not yet support custom MCP servers directly.
Install Gemini CLI (if not already installed).
npm install -g @google/gemini-cliCreate or edit the MCP settings file at ~/.gemini/settings.json:
{
"mcpServers": {
"KATTTIK-docs": {
"url": "/docs/api/mcp/"
}
}
}Start a Gemini CLI session.
geminiInside the session, ask questions about KATTTIK. Gemini will use the MCP tools to search the docs.
ChatGPT (Desktop App)
ChatGPT desktop supports MCP servers through its App Connectors feature.
Open ChatGPT desktop app.
Go to Settings → Connected Apps → MCP Servers.
Click "Add MCP Server" and enter:
- Name: KATTTIK Docs
- Transport: HTTP
- URL:
/docs/api/mcp/
Save the configuration.
Start a new chat and ask a KATTTIK question.
Example: "Search KATTTIK docs for how to install on Android" — ChatGPT will invoke search_docs and read_doc to find the answer.
VS Code / Cursor
Add a .vscode/mcp.json file to any project where you want KATTTIK docs available:
{
"servers": {
"KATTTIK-docs": {
"type": "http",
"url": "/docs/api/mcp/"
}
}
}VS Code Insiders and Cursor both support mcp.json in .vscode/. After adding the file, reload the window (Ctrl+Shift+P → Developer: Reload Window) and the tools become available to Copilot Chat.
Other MCP-Compatible Clients
Any MCP client that supports Streamable HTTP transport can connect to /docs/api/mcp/. This includes:
- Continue.dev — add to
~/.continue/config.jsonundermcpServers - Cline — add to MCP settings
- Zed — add to
settings.jsonundermcp_servers
Example Usage
Once connected, you can ask your AI assistant questions like:
| You ask | What the assistant does |
|---|---|
| "How do I connect my TikTok account to KATTTIK?" | Calls search_docs({ query: "tiktok connect" }) → reads top result with read_doc → answers with citations |
| "What should I do if my stream keeps disconnecting?" | Searches stream connection → reads the troubleshooting page → lists causes and fixes |
| "How do I install KATTTIK on my phone?" | Searches install phone → reads the install guide → gives step-by-step instructions |
| "What are the TikTok Live rules I should follow?" | Searches tiktok rules → reads the rules page → summarizes the key rules |
Tip: Be specific in your questions. The assistant uses keyword-based search — mentioning specific terms like "OBS", "payment", "soundboard", or "mini games" helps find the right page faster.
How It Works Under the Hood
- The AI assistant receives your question.
- It calls
search_docswith relevant keywords extracted from your question. - The MCP server searches all KATTTIK documentation, ranking pages by token match score (titles ×3, descriptions ×2, URLs ×1).
- The assistant picks the best result and calls
read_docto get the full page content. - The MCP server reads the raw
.mdxfile, strips JSX tags and frontmatter, and returns clean markdown. - The assistant uses the documentation content to craft an accurate, sourced answer.
